Never Stop Exploring - Hitchhiking North Africa

Hello everyone, how are you ??
I'm really missing all of you.. 5 months since my last post so I’m back to blogging after a long vacation, I hitchhiked around Morocco and this one was my third experience.

I started in a city called Safi, such an awesome city known by a big Tajine, after Safi I hitchhiked to more than 10 other cities, the famous one I think everyone knows it’s Chafchaoun, yes the lovely blue city.

Why do we hitchhike? 

Because is better / cheaper and longer, because we will talk and meet interesting people, because hitchhiking is definitely the funniest and quickest way to overcome shyness, because hitchhiking is an adventure and it will be challenging, because it’s something I’ve always wanted to try, and I'm always sure that people who will stop for us already understand that, probably because they've done it themselves or have always wanted to or maybe they’re bored and want to listen to fun travel stories. So we really only have a second or two to make a positive impression we just need to look drivers in the eye and smile as they pass…

About safe travel in Morocco?

My trip was very awesome and safe, I think the negative media and bad movies have convinced everyone that Arabic countries are so dangerous these days. I completely disagree! Most of the people we met while hitchhiking were friendly, fascinating, and full of entertaining tales. But that doesn't mean we should let our guard down. Life is meant to be lived just once and you have to take risks while doing it, either you take it or you leave it to other more courageous people to live it.

It was an incredible experience and I'd definitely do it again I highly recommend traveling to Morocco and hitchhiking. You may never need to hitchhike, but it's a useful skill to have in your traveling toolkit. After trying it, you'll probably look at hitchhikers with more compassion and less fear. So also try picking up a hitchhiker. It's less dangerous than you think.
