Do you ever find that even the simplest tasks and conversations can become overwhelming and too much to handle?
Have you ever just wanted to scream or break down and cry because your head is racing with so many unfinished tasks? If so, you may be experiencing high levels of stress. It occurs every day and is a normal part of human functioning. It can have some benefits, such as increasing motivation, but excessive or chronic stress can lead to health problems.
In this day and age, everyone seems to lead very complicated and fast-paced lives filled with what seems like unending tasks and commitments. Oftentimes, it can be hard to see through all the fog, and understand what is and is not important. Learning how to effectively manage stress can help you be happier, healthier, and even more productive in the workplace.
Stress is the feeling of tension in your body due to physical or emotional stressors. Emotional stressors could be anger, frustration, or nervousness. Stress can even lead to depression, anxiety, or panic attacks. When we feel stressed, we can have physical symptoms like increased heart rate and blood pressure, trouble sleeping, headaches, changes in appetite, loss of sexual desire or ability…
Work, school or interpersonal relationships aren’t the only things stressing us out. Living life comes with many different stressors and sometimes you just need to do something fun.
Some things you can do to relax can be super simple.
- Watch a chill movie
- Take the time for whatever your creative outlet is
- Go for a walk or a run
- Call a friend that makes you laugh. Laughter is the best medicine after all
- Sit outside and just appreciate nature.
- Cook or bake.
- Play online games
Research indicates that some online games whether played on a computer, tablet or smartphone may offer benefits in the way of relaxation and stress relief. You're probably asking what’s the best game for reducing stress? That question largely depends on your personality and interests. For some people, single-player games like Solitaire, puzzle fit the bill or card games, while others prefer playing against human opponents (or bots) in real-time. These days, you can find just about any type of game you enjoy.
Personally, I enjoy playing logic puzzle games because they are awesome for mental exercise. Rescue Boss Cut Rope, for example, It's a nice and pretty fun physics game, it starts easy and then moves to fairly complicated levels, Cut the ropes in the correct order and with precise timing to allow the boss to safely make it to the ground while steering clear of hazards including poisons, fires, arrows, and explosives... This is a game of patience that often requires you to traverse your moves repeatedly, if the timing is off or you cut the ropes in the wrong order the boss gets it.
It is often said that keeping your mind active, allows you to feel and be more active. This is something I totally agree with. Keeping your mind active also allows you to reduce stress levels and reduce fatigue.

ReplyDeleteNice post, thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI always resort to cooking if I can't go out, it always relaxes me and ends up with a delicious result. Walking is also one of my pass-time activities because I can always have some time for myself and think about certain things in order to come up with an idea or a solution. :)
